Apply smoothly and evenly to your face and blend with your fingertips. So is this like a pigmented acne spot gel? No, it does not contain any acne fighting ingredients to ward off evil pimples such as salycic acid or benzoyl peroxide.   Where should I apply it? I’m going to leave this one up to you.  But in my personal opinion I would have to apply it over small blemishes and imperfections and not as you would full face makeup.  The first time I saw one of my Asian friends using a beauty balm, she applied it just as I mentioned above and looked amazing.  Not only that but have you seen what small amount of product you get in these tubes?   What should I apply it with? A small concealer brush works just fine, but I like to apply mine with clean dry hands and tab it in my skin.   Is it thick like a balm? Not Maybelline Dream Fresh BB.  It’s actually a hydrating gel formula and not a (emollient) balm at all.   The shade lineups seem so limited; I was told that companies don’t make beauty balms for women of color because it’s not for us.  Is that true? Of course that’s not true.  I think companies in general don’t make enough deep shades, but when it comes to beauty balms in particular it originated in Asia so it may not be a huge market for us deep-toned honeys. I wear NC45 MAC  and I wear Deep Sheer Tint BB, it runs a little warm but it works when I set it with my C8 Studio Fix (powder).  Even in the photos you can see that it works.   Do you have to set it with powder like with traditional foundation? I don’t.  It’s so sheer you really don’t have to but it you want a more polished look….go for it!   How’s the performance? Maybelline Dream Fresh BB last the entire day on me if I’m not being too active (I have a sit-down desk job but I have my days).
